And now that I don't have to share a comp with Josh that should prompt me to be more active on the site. I'll just need a few days to get everything switched over from his comp to my comp.

I have been dreading updating the site for some time. But as you can see I finally got the site fixed. As much as I enjoyed a lot of the add-ons I put on the site it made it buggy as hell and hard to manage. So, I took a lot of it out. I did a clean install of the forum code-stuff and now all should be right with the world. I hope you guys like the new portal thingy I put in. It will make my job as site admin a whole lot easier.

Also, I moved the forum to the root directory, so you can access it through coldfusioninacan.com, not coldfusioninacan.com/forum/. Make sure you fix your bookmark if you have it set on the forum and not the main page.

Oh, and I broke everyone's avatars. you will have to re-upload them. Sorry.

Well this friday Ravyn will be getting an eye exam, and hopefully a new pair of glasses if we can swing it all this paycheck. Not sure if we mentioned that her glasses broke a while back. So she's been have fun being near blind and unable to code or do just about anything on the computer. So many little things just decided to kick us in the ass all at once. I can only hope we start getting things back in order.

Well, apparently Windows activated the self destruct code in one of Ravyn's Auto updates because it has dies and I mean is dead as a damn doornail. Can't even reinstall Windows it is so screwed up. Well, we're going to try and get a new one for her, but that will take a long ass time more than likely, Not sure what this will mean in terms of site updates, she's not used to coding on my computer.

within the next 24-48 hours, I will try to take the site down for maintenance. I need to reorganize a lot of files and do backups before doing any updates. and once I have the site backed up, the site may stay down for a day while I put in 'beta' test pages. JC wants me to take down the eFiction library and put up moveable type blogging system (which he will use to post his stories, but we may open it for user blogging use as well). But the upgrades I would need to do to SMF and Movable Type will require a test version before moving it in with the running forum database. if you see a link for the 'Beta Forum' and 'Beta Blog' then those will be on separate test databases that you may join for the purpose of testing the scripts. once I am happy with the way things are working, I will move everything to the live database.

But I definitely encourage everyone to test the Beta pages. I've had the site crash on me far too many times from doing tests on the live server. I have learn...
